Waiting for the iPad version of My Glycemic Index, we improved significantly the iPhone version of My Glycemic Index.

  • Database Improvement: we removed duplicated items and added food category
  • User Experience: the application opens exactly in the state it was at the end of the previous utilization

The main feature is the Glycemic Load. The most popular and widely-used extension of the glycemic index is now available in the app.

Besides this major new feature, we have a few other great improvements:

  • New food items database for english version, more than 2400 items available !
  • New information page, with dedicated content about glycemic load
  • Search has been improved to be more accurate


We’ve released an upgrade on the App Store for the My Glycemic Index app:
-Enhancement of French and English Food Database
-Search Engine improvement (cater for é,à,..)
-Minor bug fixes
-Change minimum OS requirement to 3.1

Good to know

  • The current validated methods use glucose as the reference food, giving it a glycemic index value of 100 by definition
  • The classification is the following: low GI are lower than 35, medium GI are between 36 and 50 and high GI are greater than 51
  • The GI is an average figure measured on a group of people, which explains the minor variations from one source of information to another.
  • Several diet methods are based on the GI (Dr. Jenkins, Dr. Michel Montignac, … )
